Jim James is Indeed a Rocket Man.

Yeah, I know its not as cool as a grizzly bear, but its what's inside that counts.The new, and much talked about, My Morning Jacket album, Z, leaked in its entirty about a month back, and I personally have been loving it. I am sincerely in love with everything they have ever done, the old stuff is organic and creepy the new stuff is shiny and brilliant. I totally can’t wait for the upcoming tour this fall and have already purchased tickets to see them both in Philly on Oct. 14th and in New York, on Oct. 18th. I highly recommend you seeing as many shows as you can too.

Jim James recently spoke of the new album to Billboard and basically said they trimmed the fat on this album its only 10 tracks and has a relatively short run time compared to previous releases, and it’s true, this is their On the Beach, its to the point and wonderful. So here is one of my favorite tracks from the new album, titled Anytime, which I believe is the BEST rock n’ roll song of the year hands down. I am also including a demo of Jim James covering Elton John’s “Rocket Man”. Most of my friends still think Billy Joel is better than Elton John, but most of my friends are wrong.
