The Shins are Good, and Ryan Adams Still Sucks

This Saturday was good, I saw The Shins do their thing all over the Webster Hall stage in New York. after that I got drunk, really fun drunk. Went to a bar called Niagra with a few friends, and had a mission on my mind. I know that Niagra is a frequent haunt of one Alt-Country mega-Bono-sized superstar, or at least thats what he likes to be referred to as these days, Ryan Adams to the lay person. For some reason I got it in my head that it would be a good idea to tell him “He sucks, and that he should make a country album again, instead of something with these “hip” new age elements. Ryan everyone knows you live in New York now, so stop trying to fit in and do what your good at.” Or something like that, probably contained more explitives and included Parker Posey. So that pretty much became my single goal for the rest of the evening, that and not puke. Fortunatly for everyone in my party one of those goals were accomplished.

Anywho here is a song from a few months back when James Mercer, lead man for the shins, did a solo affair in Austin for the Moonshine Festival, its called “Won One Too Many Fights” and is splendid as with most of there stuff. They performed the song with a full band set, and I’m pretty sure it will be on the next album, whenever they get around to recording one.
